For a perfect cappuccino using the Coffee Stack brand's medium-dark roast coffee beans:

Ingredients: · Freshly roasted Software Engineer coffee beans · Milk (whole milk or your preferred milk alternative) · Water

Equipment:

· Coffee grinder · Espresso machine or coffee maker with espresso capabilities · Milk frother or steam wand · Coffee tamper · Coffee scale (optional) · Coffee mug

Instructions:

1. Grind the coffee beans: Start by grinding the Software Engineer coffee beans to a fine consistency. The ideal grind size for espresso is fine but not too powdery.

2. Prepare the espresso: Measure the appropriate amount of coffee grounds for a double shot of espresso. Aim for a ratio of 18-20 grams of coffee per double shot. If using a coffee scale, it can help ensure accuracy. Distribute the coffee grounds evenly in the portafilter and tamp them down firmly using a tamper.

3. Pull the espresso shot: Place the portafilter in the espresso machine and start the extraction process. The recommended brewing time for a double shot of espresso is around 25-30 seconds. The coffee should flow steadily in a steady stream and have a rich, golden-brown crema on top.

4. Froth the milk: While the espresso is brewing, heat the milk using a milk frother or steam wand. For a cappuccino, you'll want to create creamy, velvety microfoam. Position the steam wand just below the surface of the milk and froth it until you achieve a smooth, silky texture with small bubbles. Take care not to overheat the milk.

5. Combine the espresso and milk: Pour the freshly brewed espresso into a coffee mug. Holding back the foam with a spoon, carefully pour the frothed milk into the cup, allowing the foam to rest on top. Aim for a ratio of 1/3 espresso, 1/3 steamed milk, and 1/3 foam. This will create the classic cappuccino layering effect.

6. Optional: Add flavorings or toppings: If desired, you can sprinkle cocoa powder, cinnamon, or other preferred toppings on the foam for an extra touch of flavor and decoration.

7. Enjoy your cappuccino: Serve the cappuccino immediately while it's still hot. Take a moment to appreciate the aroma, flavors, and textures of your perfectly crafted cappuccino.

Remember, the perfect cappuccino is subjective and can be adjusted to your personal taste preferences. Feel free to experiment with different milk ratios, coffee-to-milk ratios, and other variations to find the ideal balance that suits you best.
